Tamashii Nation accidently puts male Yellow Ranger Figuart

Posted on 15:32 by Unknown
 UPDATED 7/23/13
At Preview Night of SDCC Tamashii Nations accidently put the male build of the Yellow Ranger (Tiger Ranger) and now replaced with the female. It looks the same to me, just different pose. But looking at the high res pics from TokuNation, she has slight boobs. Bascially, they had to express ship it.

Power Rangers Megaforce Hot Wheels Mega AIr Jump Set

Posted on 20:27 by Unknown

I picked up the Mega Air Jump set from Power Rangers Megaforce Hot Wheels at Toys R Us. It is a Toys R Us exclusive and unlike the first Hot Wheels set that comes with the Mega Striker, it comes with a car you can't get anywhere else. I picked it up for my nephew. If it is not popular with adult fans, I see this is a favorite for my nephew and kids would love it.

At first I didn't think that the car was based on it but it slightly has the colors of the Gosei Ultimate and has some elements similar to it such as the red lines and the triangular shapes on the back of the top.

Front, side and back views. It is a convertible of sorts. It has red transparent 'windows.'

As I said on the video, it has five tracks, four go in the first one, attaching to the clamp and the jumping ramp. The ramp is attached to a tower with another ramp. The tower ramp also has a track to hit the floor. The set comes with no paper instructions, just tiny illustrations on the back of the box. It is pretty simple to assemble, especially if you have assembled Hot Wheels tracks before which I have,

The Red tracks come with a gold attachment that slides under the groves of the other red track and snaps with the circle dot. It is easy to dissemble as well.

Some Hot Wheels cars are usable and work in the jump. The Yellow Ranger car does not. The Red Ranger car works great. For us, even better than the silver one. There is a gold mechanism before the jump that if you hold it back, it lets the silver car do the jump successfully. The silver car comes with plastic rubber band-like band that you need to take off the wheels before using.

I also got my grand nephew the Yellow Ranger Tiger Zord car as he requested it and it has a great design, it has bull-dozer-like wheels, but they aren't the actual wheels. The car toy wheels are covered by the 'dozer' wheels. It makes it difficult for the car to run through the Mega Air Jump track. It get stuck at the first stop and doesn't jump. Like the Blue Ranger car, it also makes it difficult for it to fit in my Nephew's Hot Wheels carrying case that carries regular Hot Wheels cars.

I found the Blue Ranger car under my desk (I have a big desk).

 Kids Rating: 4 Stars
Lavender Ranger's Rating: 4 Stars
My nephew Jaiden loves it! It is great for kids, easy to assemble and easy to use. Hard thing for parents is storage. I have just been dissembling it and re-assembling it. I like playing with my grand nephew and it. My nephew that is 25 and likes cars also likes this one.

Adult Collector Rating; 2
I don't think this was made for collectors. If you are both a Hot Wheels and Power Rangers fan, I suggest picking it up just for the silver car. It is quite cool. But can it be confused with other Hot WHeels cars as it is not as 'dynamic' as the Yellow Ranger car or Blue Ranger car? Yes, it is sort of generic in the mist of Hot Wheels cars.

Power Rangers Megaforce Trailer and Nick.com section

Posted on 19:25 by Unknown
Nick.com has launched their Megaforce section.
http://www.nick.com/megaforce
PowerRangers.com by the way has a countdown clock to the premiere and new PRM wallpaper but no section yet.

Info on the show:
Gosei does sound like Zordon
Noah Craver / Blue - Smart, Ethan-Billy type, Jake's friend
Jake Holling / Black - Outgoing, crush on Gia
Gia Moran / Yellow - "Ms. Perfect," different clique than Emma but still friends
Emma Goodall / Pink - BMX Biking chick/Nature chick
Troy Burrows / Red - New kid/underdog/martial artist

Lavender's take on the names:
All the last names kind of sound really British. Goodall reminds me of the Monkey researcher lady, Burrows, Holling and Craver scream British to me. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Craver makes me think of carving something. Holling sounds like Hallow and Burrows reminds me of digging something. The three make me think of cutting or digging something. Moran looks like Morgan, missing the 'g.' And Goodall makes me think of 'Good' and 'All' as in 'All Good' like Emma is all that is good. Other had mentioned how Noah makes people think of Noah's Ark and water. Gia as in Earth, Jake as in Jake and the Beanstalk and Earth and nature.

Dragon Sword and Hotwheels Red & Blue Toy Reviews

Posted on 17:50 by Unknown
In an effort to bring Henshin Grid into a new direction and have video toy reviews, I planned to get the perspective of a young Power Ranger fan. My plan as to review some new toys from the perspective of my 3-year-old grand nephew Jaiden (he wasn't named after Jayden the Red Ranger). Anyone that has a 3-year-old know it is hard to get anything out of them. Jaiden turned out not liking being photographed or even on video. He got shy. For Christmas, I got him the Samurai Red Sword Cycle, plush 16" Green Samurai Ranger Battler, Mega Mode Green Samurai Ranger Mask, Hotwheels Power Rangers Megaforce Red and Blue, and Megaforce Dragon Sword and Phoenix Shot. His mom gave him the Red Ranger Sword slahing Action Morph figure. I only reviewed Dragon Sword Phoenix Shot Battle Set and the Hotwheels cars of Power Rangers.

INTRODUCING: EYESHINE

Posted on 18:41 by Unknown
Hey folks, happy thanksgiving. Hope you all havve a good time enjoying your turkey and your family. Thank you for having me as a writer on the blog, and now I'd like give my thanks to some very special people that though some of you may heard of once or twice, but probably don't know very well.

(left to right: Polo Yazaki, Johnny Yong Bosch, Maurice Salmin, Crystal Mesina)
As some of you may know, Johnny Yong Bosch, after leaving power rangers, became an anime voice actor, and a rocker. But what is this band that he is a member of? well, as stated in the eyeshine panel at PMC3, after having financial problems, Johnny had to make a decission with one of his last possessions (a guitar): play it or sell it. Of course he chose to play it. eventually he met drummer Maurice Salmin, and became the "Lennon/McCartney" of modern rock (though this was still sort of in their "Lennon/Sutcliff" stage). Much like how the Beatles were originally called the Quarrymen, Eyeshine were originally called "Partly cloudy", but then decided the name was stupid. After watching an episode of "Crocodile Hunter", having the late Steve Irwin talk about looking for a crocodile's eyeshine at night, they decided, that should be their new name.

The band mainly consisted of four members, who changed at various points, leading to Johnny with lead vocals/rhythm guitar, Maurice on drums/backup vocals, Crystal Mesina on bass, and Eddie Colmenares on lead guitar. At that point, they've performed at many anime conventions, at PMC1, and released their 4th LP album "Tone of Echoes" (the first three being "How About That", "Red Stripes and White Lights" and "My Paper Kingdom"). In their whole career they did a number of music videos, including "Our Whole Lives Tonight", directed by my good friend, Jason Narvy.

Sometime after losing the first Gimme The Gig competition in 2011, Eddie left the band, and was replaced by their sub guitarist, Masataka "Polo" Yazaki. Eddie then joined another band, and on occasion comes to the band's regular venue to perform, and give friendly support to the band. At that point, Eyeshine were at their best. The music blended so perfectly, and teamwork was just phenomenal. Now, i'm not saying that they were worse before or after, but to ever fan, there is one era in a band's carreer that they find most savoury, and for me, that was it. At that point, they finished their acoustic album "Afterglow", and started working on their 5th LP "Revolution Airwaves". After being reinvited to Gimme The Gig II in 2012, the band scored an amazing victory in the finals, granting them a chance to perform a music video for their song "Stratosphere" under the direction of Don Was. Sadly, this led to the dark age of the band.

Sometime after the competition, Crystal tragically left the band due to family and financial reasons. without a bassist, they had to work around gigs they've already booked by doing accoustic instead of full electric. Luckily, while searching for a replacement, Eyeshine's sister band, Service Interuption lended them their bass player, Zack Duncan. Thanks to Zack's help, they were able to perform to their fullest, even in PMC3, and from the fans' reaction (which I was a part of), they did not disappoint. before the actual concert at PMC, they had a panel with Q/A and music in the background. the next day there was an accoustinc Q/A where they answered in song form, but sadly i can't come because it was a gold event and and a communication error made me short one guest pass. but here's the the basic panel:
Recently, they've been able to find a perminant bassist in Ginny Eck. who joined the band sometime between PMC3 and Sept 5th. Now that the band is complete again, they are trying to rock out harder than they ever could, including a 2nd accoustic album, 2 new music videos "Consuming Fire", and "Broken and Abused", and a special surpise that I promised Johnny I wouldn't tell, but stay tuned for it when it comes. They still play at 2nd St. Jazz club every first Wednesday of the month (the next being Dec. 5th)
How I came aquanted with the band? Well, as some of you may know, Jason Narvy is a friend of mine, and both of us are huge Shakespeare buffs. On my 19th birthday, he got to hang out while he was playing a comedy version of hamlet (which if you really think about it, is a comedy....tragic...but a comedy). but right before he left home to pack for Chicago, he told me to check out the band. Of course I did, and was exited to find johnny was in it. I didn't put too much focus on them just yet but it was kinda cool that my favorite ranger was a rocker. But then last October, I was attending the opening of a toku art museum, and heard a band performing outside. I was surprised to hear it was the band that featured my hero from age 3. After the show, we got to chat for a bit, which was awesome. Afterwards, I started going to gigs, and I was even recognised as the "fedora guy" (long story).....anyways, a whole year has passed, and Johnny and Maurice are now good friends of mine. Looking back, it's funny when your classmates pretend to be friends with rangers, and then you become actual friends with one....and your all-time favorite no less. Granted, I don't go to gigs because he's a ranger....I do it because he's part of an awesome band, and i see a lot of friends rocking out with me. In fact when I watch PR episodes with him in them, it's hard to believe that guy in the show is a personal aquaintance.
Eyeshine is a local LA band, and aren't signed by a label. Not many people know them, but millions of PR and anime fans have heard of them through Johnny's wikipedia, PMC, anime conventions, youtube, or happen to have friends who already listen to them. You can check the band out on youtuble, eyeshine.net, like them on facebook, or follow on twitter, and follow their adventures on their documentary series "Eyeshine Experience". And if they happen to perform in your home town, like Tampa FL last weekend, for example, be sure to check them out.

Power Rangers Megaforce and 19 Red Rangers (Including LAUREN) at the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade

Posted on 08:07 by Unknown

Thanks to SabanPRClips:
Check out his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/#!/jamie.abbott.315

I saw it on NBC but I don't have HD so I missed a couple of them, including the female Red Samurai Ranger LAUREN! They didn't have the White Ranger, they replaced him with LAUREN! So awesome! They had even 20 Red Rangers.

Took me a while but I did this. Let me now if I got any wrong. Zeo and Dino Thunder did a flip and switched places during the performance. I didn't personally see Mystic Force but I saw a red foot and arm moving around on the corner of the screen so it had to him.

Eh, Robo Knight? Wow, he wasn't spotted on the televised version but apparently he was in the parade. This is a surprise they made a meet-and-greet version of the costume, he doesn't look too 'dumb down' but it doesn't look quite as bulky or shiny as the costume we know from the show.

From Instagram:
Notice Lauren's boots, they looked damaged and are missing the black stripe.

Tiny Chat Tonight!

Posted on 13:43 by Unknown
Don't forget Tiny Chat tonight at 10pm! Forget about the Over 18 age limit. It was brought to my attention by MorphinLegacy that the people who frequent his chats, they are underage and I figure since they know me from my chats, they might visit me too. My grand Nephew Jaiden, age 2 (3 in two weeks), might be there too. So please don't curse a lot, he usually doesn't pick it out if it is in the middle of a sentence.

Samurai Spoilers at Samuraicast.com

Posted on 15:45 by Unknown
SPOILERS

If you don't want to be spoiled, don't press the link. FuryDiamond at RangerCrew Blog has posted summaries about the episodes that have aired on Nickeldeon Latin America. Picture above also from RangerCrew Blog. The episodes have been encoded and are available at:

Summaries: http://blog.samuraicast.com/upcoming-power-rangers-super-samurai-episodes/

Encoding Videos: http://www.shadowrangers.net/
They were encoded by Z-Rider of Shadowrangers.net
But of course they are in Spanish. The only videos available now are A Crack In The World (Una grieta en el mundo), Stroke Of Fate (Golpe del destino), The Great Duel (El Gran Duelo), Evil Reborn (Maldad renacida), and The Sealing Symbol (El Simblio del Sello). Fight Fire with Fire is not available at this site. I do not know where else to get it. The last episode Samurai Forever has not aired yet.

My pal Jay at MorphinLegacy is not crazy about the new episodes airing first in Latin America but not in the United States. Some believe it has to do with Nick LA, that it was their decision. Kimberly Crossman, the actress that played Lauren, said on Twitter that her 'secret is out.' Also these pictures of a television with the final episode thanks to Raz from Rangerboard and Angel Eduardo Jr:

Skull does return but in the final episode. Jayden uses Shogun mode outside of a zord. The Rangers are unmorphed inside the zords cockpit like in Shinkenger.

PMC 3: Ron Wasserman Panel

Posted on 14:00 by Unknown

I have no video on Ron Wasserman, basically because he was saying some incriminating stuff and I didn't know how he would feel. I am sure other people recorded but I just didn't want to risk it. Anyway, he would have asked to take the cameras away. With my insane troll logic, I will write it but not have video. Anyways, this is what went down:

Ron Wasserman was saying that he will re-record most of his songs from MMPR and the theme because he likes the new technology and equipment. He says it is unconnected to Saban Brands or any producers. Someone asked about the Power Rangers Samurai theme, he said it was okay. And if he was asked to do the theme? He says they called him to do it, he said okay. Then a month passed and then another month passed and nothing. So he e-mailed them and they e-mailed back something like, 'thank you but we found somebody.' The whole audience said 'aww.'

About the SPD theme, he said he made one and then they told him to change it so he added changes. As for the Mystic Force one, he made the song we heard and Disney didn't like it, they wanted a rap. He then leaked his song and they got upset. They said he shouldn't have done that. Then he said there is difference between 'shouldn't' and 'couldn't.' Maybe I got this wrong. I am sure MorphinLegacy will correct me or someone else.

When asked about the Gold Ranger theme, he wasn't sure if he did it or not. He said he was with Saban from 1993 to 1995 and things were heated by 1995. He did the background music for the movie but it was dumped because some higher ups didn't like it. He was upset about that. As for the Bulk and Skull theme, he said Bulk is the tuba and Skull is the other instrument. And for the songs with lyrics in Season 3, he added them rather quickly. He came up with most songs within one or two days.

Here is one interesting story:
Valerie Bertinelli was married to Eddie Van Halen and they have a kid together. Ron does music now for Hot in Cleveland which Valerie stars in. Ron went to her house and met Van Halen. Van Halen said, 'you know I played for a band called Van Halen?" Van Halen even wanted to know from Ron how to play the MMPR theme on the guitar, he said his friend was trying to figure it out. Ron Wasserman explained that the guitar rift was done by the computer, impossible for a guitar to do. When Van Halen heard this, he said, "Oh... I knew that."

UPDATED 8/23/12
He also said that he was he was given the name 'Mighty Raw' by Saban management. They were like 'you're now 'Mighty Raw.' He said okay. Ron was born Ron Aaron Wasserman and made his name 'Aaron Waters' because 'Wasser' means Water and basically his name is 'Water-Man.' I remember hearing the song for the pilot of "Cybertron" starring Jason David Frank, which became VR Troopers. The song sounded a lot like the 'Go Green Ranger' song and had the words 'Cybertron.' I asked him about the song, he said they had to change it so he added 'Green Ranger.' He said that Power Rangers originally was called 'Metal Man.' I think he meant VR Troopers but oh well.

AnimeGamer75 got it, thank you:

PMC3: David Yost Panel

Posted on 08:56 by Unknown
This was a ticketed event, $10 I believe. It was on Saturday, we had to get to the convention center by 10am to get tickets. Jay (MorphinLegacy) and I got there late because I was talking to Elie Dekel at the Power Breakfast but we got tickets. The line to go into the event at 3:30pm was long and then afterwards to get an autograph was super long. Thank you so much to the two fans that let us in earlier! E-mail me and I'll credit you guys! In the line, autographs were free. But you had to choose, it was a photograph with him and an autographed photo or just an autographed item. I chose the autographed item. I told him about Yes Institute, an non-profit organization I volunteer for that is about gay and transgender youth, stop bullying and prevent teen suicide. He appreciated it.

Audio sucks

David Yost Morphs

About the panel:
Steve Cardenas and Johnny Yong Bosch came to hug him. Later was Walter Jones. Catherine Sutherland and Nakia Burrise came too and talked but I couldn't get it on video. I ran out to get Rajia Baroudi (Delphine) and Alan Palmer (Corcus) from the big expo room to get them to say hi to David. Rajia came up to David and hugged him. David was asked many questions and told stories about how much he means to them, if nerdy, smart, gay, etc. I was going to stand in line to ask a question but it was too long. He had a raffle for the Movie Script. Runner-up got a piece of the crystal from when Zordon was dying in the movie (shattered Zordon tube). Whichever questions he liked got free stuff: signed cards, photos, etc. And afterward, he made sure the other people who asked questions got stuff too.
